SuDS Report for Proposed 22-Dwelling Residential Development
Nimbus Engineering Consultants were commissioned by Christine Muir in order to provide a SuDS Report and SuDS Assessment for her proposed development of 22 dwellings, with associated landscaping areas and roads.
We were initially asked to look at the feasibility of infiltration at the site, and carried out BRE365 Infiltration testing in order to ascertain the feasibility of source control methods of SuDS.
Unfortunately infiltration was not a viable option at this site, however due to the presence of a ditch at the site, we were able to find a suitable means of surface water disposal from the site.
Due to the depth of the ditch being fairly shallow, we had to ensure that gravity discharge was viable, and therefore carried out our levels assessment from this ditch to make sure all upstream SuDS assets were also shallow enough to make this viable.
We ensured that a level of treatment was provided for all of the surface water run off via a combination of raingarden planters, raingardens and filter drains, prior to attenuation in two large attenuation tanks.
This was followed by final storage and treatment in a large raingarden, prior to discharge to the adjacent ditch, via gravity at the required Greenfield rate.
