Nimbus Engineering Consultants were commissioned by Jet Developments in order to provide a Suns Design and Report in order do discharge the planning conditions relating to this, imposed by Enfield Borough Council.
As Enfield’s requirements include one level of treatment prior to any attenuation, and due to the limited space available on site.
We design several raingarden planters in order to treat the roof run off, with filter drains provided in order to provide a level of treatment for the proposed hardscaping areas, which were also formed of permeable paving.
An attenuation tank was also proposed with a flow restriction to the existing surface water drainage in the street.
As the client wanted to build their own bespoke raingarden planters, we provided guidance for these to be built on site.
Furthermore the client required assistance with securing S106 approvals from Thames Water, and detailed design for all proposed drainage including foul water. Therefore we provided a full detailed below ground drainage design package, for building regulation approval as well as construction.
The site was fairly challenging due to the limited space on site, there being no topographical survey plans or a utility survey. We managed to complete the design by using the Thames Water asset map, LIDAR data to allow the client to propose the levels around the site and had various meetings with the client and architect, in order to produce and several iterations of our design in order to satisfy Enfield Borough Council, as well as being suitable to construct on site.
