Chippendale Way, Uxbridge- Flood Risk Assessment & SuDs Report
The proposed development site was within a Flood Zone 1, with no risk of flooding from any sources. However, there were surface water flooding issues within the vicinity of the site, as shown above.
Due to the development consisting of over 10 units, a detailed SuDS strategy was required in order to show that the surface water leaving the site could be dealt with through the use of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems.
The existing site was greenfield, therefore our proposed solution followed the SuDS management train, in order to treat and slow down the peak rate of surface water run off. It also ensured that any surface water run off leaving the site was restricted to greenfield rates, in line with the London Borough of Hillingdon’s requirements. We also completed the London Borough of Hillingdon’s SuDS Pro-Forma and associated calculations, and therefore satisfied the planning requirements and gained consent for the client.
Nimbus Engineering Consultants Ltd, were then commissioned to carry out the detailed below ground foul and surface water drainage design. We also carried out the Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems design for this site in order to discharge the relevant planning conditions, as well as provided construction drawings.
